Jessica and Anthony – Stoney Creek Engagement Session

Jessica & Anthony both have lived and grown up in the downriver area of metro Detroit.  They told me the type of photos they were looking for during their e-session and I told them I thought Stoney Creek Metropark would be a great venue.  That meant a trek to the “north woods of Detroit” and I think they enjoyed their couple of hours being hustled around my favorite areas of Stoney Creek.  Hopefully Jessica didn’t mind my “ribbing” about her phobias and allergies.  Based on her beautiful smile, I’m guessing she wasn’t.  Anthony and Jessica have a late June wedding planned at the Masonic Temple in Detroit.  Check back then for some beautiful wedding shots.

Alicia and Alex – University of Michigan / Ann Arbor Engagement Session

Alicia & Alex both went to U of M, graduated the same year, even had a class together (I think), but never met until after college.  They both still had fond memories of Ann Arbor and University of Michigan and wanted to head back there for their engagement session.  A stop at the graffiti wall was a must, as well as stop at The Ark for a shot where Alex asked Alicia to marry him…there’s more to the story, but you have to ask Alex about that.  We then headed over to the Arboretum and the peony  gardens which weren’t quite ready.  We took a few paths thru the woods and found a friendly deer and a great opening full of beautiful flowers (my family would be ashamed I didn’t know what type of flower they were).  Alicia and Alex were a super fun couple to photograph because they were totally willing to have some fun and laugh together.  A 2013 wedding is planned, stay tuned.

Miss Adele – Infant Studio Session

If you follow my blog, you may recognize Mom and Dad in these photos with young Miss Adele.  I photographed Pat & Elizabeth’s Michigan Theater wedding in 2010 and was so happy for them when they scheduled Adele to come in for a visit and photo session yesterday.  I must say, Adele was such an easy subject to work with.  She smiled and being the age she is, sat perfectly still for  us to get some fun and memorable pictures for Mom and Dad.  I think we did a pretty good job of capturing Adele’s personality.

Shannon & Rob – Royal Oak Engagement Session

Shannon & Rob still have the summer to wait for their wedding.  On Saturday, we had a perfect day for a fun engagement session at Royal Oak’s Dondero High School.  Being part of the final graduation class from the high school made it an important memory for them.  It ended up being a great venue to shoot photos.  Also, we had to get a few photos of their collegiate allegiances in.  Rob went to CMU and now works at University of Michigan, so for him it’s even a little more strained.  The split flag they brought was a fun addition to the session.  Watch for Shannon & Rob’s wedding photos this fall

Amanda & Chris – Detroit Engagement Session

Amanda and Chris wanted to do a spring e-session before their mid-April wedding in the Florida Keys.  We had tried to do this session about three previous days, but weather always got in the way.  Chris and Amanda like spending time in Detroit on  motorcycle rides, so we decided it would be a good place to start.  They also are Red Wings fans, so Joe Louis needed to be a background also.  The warehouse district near the Ren Cen was where we had the most fun with their shots.  The bike just popped from the red brick buildings and walls. We finally finished near Chene Park on the waterfront.  Best of luck with your new lives and enjoy your wedding day in Florida.

Shane & Courtni – Pine Knob Mansion Wedding

Courtni and Shane contacted me early last fall about their late winter wedding plans.  We had a super fun engagement session in September.  Fast forward a few months and Courtni and her mother have planned a beautiful wedding at Pine Knob Mansion and Carriage House in Clarkston, Michigan.  With the intimate ceremony held in the Mansion, where Courtni and Shane recited their personally written vows. More than a few tears were seen around the room.  We then headed outside to do some fun shots with the wedding party.  The warm week prior to the wedding gave our outdoor shots some beautiful backgrounds.  The Carriage House was the venue for the reception.  Now the couple is off for a great honeymoon and a life of happiness together.  Best wishes to the happy couple.

Erica and Kyle – Engagement Session Cranbrook Bloomfield Hills, Michigan

Erica and Kyle are tying the knot in September, but wanted to get their engagement images done this spring.  Unbelievably, an engagement session in March this year looks like April or May most years.  With the awesome Michigan weather this last week the trees have started blooming and gave us some great backgrounds.  Cranbrook is always a fun place to shoot with a diverse selection of architecture.  Watch for Erica and Kyle’s wedding photos later this year.

Chelsey & Jeff – East China Township Engagement Session

I had a great time with Chelsey & Jeff yesterday. We carved out some time on a surprisingly nice Michigan winter afternoon. Both Chelsey and Jeff grew up around Marine City and so the backdrop for their session made complete sense, at East China Township Park and Chelsey’s parents home on the St. Clair River. We had a lot of laughs and that always makes photography that much easier. Can’t wait until the big day in June.

Claudia and Tony’s Winter Wedding – Shelby Township and Sterling Heights

Claudia and Tony planned a beautiful winter wedding.  We had hoped for light snow and a snow covered ground…and that wasn’t quite what we had, but it was a beautiful day nonetheless.  Claudia spent a wonderful morning with her family getting ready and celebrating the upcoming nuptials.  The wedding took place at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Shelby Township.  Due to the wind and unpredictable weather that day, we decided Dave & Buster’s in Utica may be a fun and better place to take some photos of the bridal party.  Dave & Busters allowed us to use their facility for some truly fun photos of the bridal party.  We then moved onto Penna’s of Sterling Heights for the reception.  Claudia and her mother definitely had a great vision of what they wanted Claudia’s day to look like.  Penna’s room looked just gorgeous.  We had a great time covering Claudia and Tony’s day and are looking forward to seeing the day’s film from Joseph Bauer Studios.  Best wishes and congratulations to Claudia and Tony.
