Dax and Alexa – Detroit Institute of Arts Wedding

Dax and Alexa are about as “Detroit” as a couple from Chicago can get. I love Chicago, but I think it’s so cool this couple chose Detroit for their wedding, because they enjoy being in the D.

From the getting ready photos at the Crowne Plaza, to the guys hitting some highlights of the city before the wedding, to the beautiful ceremony at the DIA. Wow, what a whirlwind day and the best part was that the rain cleared out so we could capture it all.

Best wishes to a beautiful couple and their lifetime together!

Becca and Michael – MacRay Harbor Wedding

We fought the probability of rain most of the day, but Becca and Michael didn’t let it stop them from an amazingly beautiful wedding. Michael, who is in the US Coast Guard, helped to organize the nautical themed wedding. Becca and her bridesmaids looked wonderful and other than the outdoor ceremony being moved in, the day went off without a hitch.

Best Wishes, Becca and Michael!

Eric and Erin – Our Lady of Sorrows and Cherry Creek Wedding

We last saw Eric and Erin in the fall of 2015 at MSU, where they met. The big day finally arrived and weather was nearly ideal.

Erin got ready at one of her bridesmaids homes and then the crew made their way to Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Farmington. A beatuiful ceremony wed Eric and Erin. Erin played a part in choosing much of the music and readings during the ceremony which made it even more special.

It was then off to Rochester Mills Beer Co. for some fun around the pool table and to celebrate. Then Cherry Creek Golf Club was our final destination for cocktail hour and the reception. We had a perfect evening for photos.
Congratulations Eric and Erin.

Lance and Kaitlyn – Laurel Manor Wedding

Kaitlyn and Lance were last seen in this blog in the fall, when they were planning their big day. It finally came and what a great time was had by their whole family. Daughters Kelsey and London were also happy participants.

Pre wedding photos took place at Kaitlyn’s grandparents home in a great wooded and garden setting and then it was off to Laurel Manor for the ceremony and reception.

Congratulations Kaitlyn and Lance.

Jessica and Nick – Inn at St. John’s Wedding

Jessica and Nick’s big day arrived and although it was April 1, there was no joking about what was about to happen. They both were so excited for the moment the officiant pronounced them man and wife.

For those of us who live in Michigan, we all know too well how April can be a mixture of many seasons. The first day of April 2016 gave us a nearly perfect weather day for Jessica and Nick’s celebration. The chapel at Inn at St. John’s for the wedding and the Atrium for the extra beautiful reception. Thanks to some help from Laura Davis & Co. with the overall coordination and help planning the day.

Best wishes for a wonderful life together Jessica and Nick.

Kial and Brandon – St. Ambrose and Belle Isle Casino Wedding

The last time we saw Kial and Brandon on this blog, it was a cold winter day. Their wedding was a beautiful fall Saturday.

We started with some “getting ready” photos at both respective locations. It was then off to the ceremony held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Grosse Pointe. A beautiful ceremony at a well preserved historic church.

The couple then chose to hit some of their favorite spots in Detroit for some photos. The afternoon light on the Riverwalk was spectacular and we found some early fall colors on Belle Isle for some photos there before heading to the reception.

The Belle Isle Casino was transformed into a party atmosphere. After a wonderful meal the guests danced and partied the night away, clebrating Kial and Brandon’s big day.

John and Jannine – Detroit and Troy Michigan Wedding Day

John and Jannine have been planning their big day for over a year. With a large family on both sides assisting and in attendance, their day turned out perfect.

We started the day at the Embassy Suites in Troy and then headed to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Detroit. The ceremony was quick and beautiful and then the couple headed out to the streets of Detroit for some fun photos at Lafayette Coney Island and the Detroit Athletic Club.

The evenings festivities took place at San Marino Club in Troy. Jannine and John felt the love of thier families being sent their way as they progressed through the evening. Traditional Greek and Italian dances brought the celebrations full circle.

Best wishes John and Jannine!

Rachel and Eric – Shepherd’s Hollow Wedding

Eric and Rachel had a beautiful evening under the tall pines at Shepherd’s Hollow. This is one of my favorite golf courses to photograph at because of all the natural beatuy and the way the light comes through the trees.

The bride looked radiant and made her parents and the groom proud when she emerged from the clubhouse. Rachel’s brother performed the quick, but meaningful ceremony in front of the couples guests on the back patio.

We then had some fun around the grounds of the golf course before heading back in for the celebration and the evening’s festivities.

Best wishes Rachel and Eric.

Whitney and Bryan – Royal Oak and Southfield Wedding

Whitney and Bryan have been planning their day for months now and it finally arrived. Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak and the Atrium of the Westin Southfield were there chosen venues. A perfect day, weather wise, was all that was needed. Although a bit hot, it was perfect.
The ceremony at Shrine was beautiful and intimate and both Whitney and Brian seemed so happy when the introduction of the new couple was made. We then travelled to downtown Royal Oak for some fun photos at Royal Oak Brewery and the streets of Royal Oak. Pleasant Ridge community park provided the background for a few more outdoor photos.
It was then off to the celebration at the Westin Southfield’s Atrium. What a great setting for a celebration.

Whitney and Bryan, congratulations and best wishes.

Karen and Ryan – St. Paul on the Lake and Grosse Pointe Yacht Club Wedding

Karen and Ryan, Chicago residents, came back to Karen’s hometown to say their vows. St. Paul on the Lake Catholic Church was where the happy couple made it official and the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club was where they celebrated.

Karen donned her mother’s wedding gown, with a few modernizations, and looked stunning. Ryan and the guys got ready at the Mariott Ren Cen, with all men wearing the ever fashionable US Flag socks. A nearly full church looked on as the couple said their vows.

Post ceremony photo opps had a small damper put on them by the day of rain. We still were able to utilize the beautiful yacht club for our photos. The band Cascade provided the evening of entertainment and the dance floor was never empty.
