Dax and Alexa – Detroit Institute of Arts Wedding

Dax and Alexa are about as “Detroit” as a couple from Chicago can get. I love Chicago, but I think it’s so cool this couple chose Detroit for their wedding, because they enjoy being in the D.
From the getting ready photos at the Crowne Plaza, to the guys hitting some highlights of the city before the wedding, to the beautiful ceremony at the DIA. Wow, what a whirlwind day and the best part was that the rain cleared out so we could capture it all.
Best wishes to a beautiful couple and their lifetime together!

Becca and Michael – MacRay Harbor Wedding

We fought the probability of rain most of the day, but Becca and Michael didn’t let it stop them from an amazingly beautiful wedding. Michael, who is in the US Coast Guard, helped to organize the nautical themed wedding. Becca and her bridesmaids looked wonderful and other than the outdoor ceremony being moved in, the day went off without a hitch.

Best Wishes, Becca and Michael!

Lance and Kaitlyn – Laurel Manor Wedding

Kaitlyn and Lance were last seen in this blog in the fall, when they were planning their big day. It finally came and what a great time was had by their whole family. Daughters Kelsey and London were also happy participants.

Pre wedding photos took place at Kaitlyn’s grandparents home in a great wooded and garden setting and then it was off to Laurel Manor for the ceremony and reception.

Congratulations Kaitlyn and Lance.

Jessica and Nick – Inn at St. John’s Wedding

Jessica and Nick’s big day arrived and although it was April 1, there was no joking about what was about to happen. They both were so excited for the moment the officiant pronounced them man and wife.

For those of us who live in Michigan, we all know too well how April can be a mixture of many seasons. The first day of April 2016 gave us a nearly perfect weather day for Jessica and Nick’s celebration. The chapel at Inn at St. John’s for the wedding and the Atrium for the extra beautiful reception. Thanks to some help from Laura Davis & Co. with the overall coordination and help planning the day.

Best wishes for a wonderful life together Jessica and Nick.

Whitney and Bryan – Royal Oak and Southfield Wedding

Whitney and Bryan have been planning their day for months now and it finally arrived. Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak and the Atrium of the Westin Southfield were there chosen venues. A perfect day, weather wise, was all that was needed. Although a bit hot, it was perfect.
The ceremony at Shrine was beautiful and intimate and both Whitney and Brian seemed so happy when the introduction of the new couple was made. We then travelled to downtown Royal Oak for some fun photos at Royal Oak Brewery and the streets of Royal Oak. Pleasant Ridge community park provided the background for a few more outdoor photos.
It was then off to the celebration at the Westin Southfield’s Atrium. What a great setting for a celebration.

Whitney and Bryan, congratulations and best wishes.

Karen and Ryan – St. Paul on the Lake and Grosse Pointe Yacht Club Wedding

Karen and Ryan, Chicago residents, came back to Karen’s hometown to say their vows. St. Paul on the Lake Catholic Church was where the happy couple made it official and the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club was where they celebrated.
Karen donned her mother’s wedding gown, with a few modernizations, and looked stunning. Ryan and the guys got ready at the Mariott Ren Cen, with all men wearing the ever fashionable US Flag socks. A nearly full church looked on as the couple said their vows.
Post ceremony photo opps had a small damper put on them by the day of rain. We still were able to utilize the beautiful yacht club for our photos. The band Cascade provided the evening of entertainment and the dance floor was never empty.

Erin and Joe – The Henry Ford, Greenfield VIllage and Lovett Hall Wedding

Erin and Joe are a super fun couple we last saw in the fall for their engagement session. On Friday, their wedding day finally arrived. It was a beautiful day for a wedding and beautiful reception at The Henry Ford, Greenfield Village and Lovett Hall.
The day started for both the guys and girls at the Adoba Hotel in Dearborn. We then did a romantic first look in the Blue Room at the Henry Ford. It was then a photo tour in a horse drawn bus around Greenfield Village, with Erin & Joe and the wedding party.
At Lovett Hall the ceremony tood place in the parlor on the lower level and then we moved up to the ballroom for the festivities. The evening was highlighted by a self composed song by Erin’s Dad, honoring her on her wedding day. What a beautiful setting for a beautiful day.

Jason and Michelle – St. Fabian, Birmingham Michigan and Wabeek Country Club Wedding

We last saw Jason and Michelle on a cold fall day. We hoped that an April wedding would prove to be a better day…they couldn’t have received a better day. Sunny and nice warm spring temperatures.

St. Fabian in Farmington Hills was where Jason and Michelle chose to say their vows. Some beautiful stained glass windows led to some great backgrounds also.

We then headed to downtown Birmingham for some fun photos with the bridal party and then it was off to Wabeek Country Club for the evenings festivities.

Wabeek, with it’s wonderful window backdrop for the head table. After a wonderful meal, the couple celebrated into the evening with friends and family.

Congratulations Michelle and Jason.

Josh and Nicole – Mt. Clemens, Rochester and Indianwood Golf Club Wedding

A cold December day didn’t scare Nicole and Josh. In fact, that’s what they hoped for. Their ceremony was a Zion Church of Christ in Mt. Clemens where the church was decorated for the season and a beautiful wedding day. Josh’s daughter, Rae, played a huge part in the wedding day and was a wonderful flower girl.

After the ceremony and formal photos, we headed for downtown Rochester and the downtown full of holiday lights. Josh and Nicole, and the wedding party, were troopers and we got lots of fun images in the downtown area.

It was then off to Indianwood Country Club for a beautifully decorate Great Hall. A wonderful meal, fun and love was felt by all. Best wishes to the happy couple.

Scott and Heather’s Masonic Temple Wedding Day – Detroit

Scott and Heather chose Masonic Temple in Detroit for their wedding day. It’s such a fabulous building that still can host an elegant wedding. Both the bride and groom did their prep and getting ready at the historic structure. We then took each group around the building to get some unique backgrounds. It was then a 4:30 ceremony in the chapel at the Masonic. A beautiful reception in the ballroom then followed. A full dance floor capped off the evening. Best wishes to the happy couple.
