Erin and Eric – Michigan State Engagement Session

Although they didn’t meet at MSU, they both graduated from MSU and that bond evenutally brought them together indirectly. Season football ticket holders and true Sparty fans.
We spent time wandering around the MSU camputs, which is absolutely beautiful this time of the year. We found some of Eric and Erin’s favorite spots on our trek.
Stay tuned for a July 2016 wedding.

Jaclyn and Bobby – Maternity Session

Jaclyn and Bobby have been long time clients of mine. I always enjoy watching a couple grow from engagement to having a family. Well, for Jaclyn and Bobby, they have a new home and a baby boy soon to be helping them fill their home. We had a beautiful evening to shoot some images and utilize their new backyard for some fun photos. Congratulations and we look forward to meeting the young man.

Brad and Kathy – Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor, Novi Wedding and Reception

Brad and Kathy had the designation as being the first “wedding” for Michael Sackett Photography of the 2013 season.  And what a glorious day it was.  The weather was perfect Michigan springtime temperature, not a cloud in the sky, a beautiful bride and a handsome groom.  What more could I ask for?

The wedding was held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ypsilanti.  The church is such a great venue for photography.  After a fun exit, we headed on to Ann Arbor for some photos around the UM campus.  We spent some time at the Law Quad and then headed over to the Architectural Museum.  Then it was off to the Novi Sheraton for the reception.

Best wishes to Kathy and Brad after they get back from the Cayman Islands.

Christina and Casey – Waldenwoods Resort Wedding

Christina and Casey chose Waldenwoods as the perfect venue for their wedding.  What a beautiful day and venue it was.  A beautiful lodge, a perfect Michigan lake and a gorgeous bride made for the perfect wedding.  Christina and Casey said their vows in front of their guests with the sun kissed lake in the background.  After photos around the well manicured grounds, we moved inside to the banquet facilities for the evenings party and festivities.  Christina’s Greek heritage added to the celebration with a Greek style line dance which started off the evenings dancing and opened the dance floor.  Enjoy.

Carolyn and Elra – Lovely Thanksgiving Weekend Wedding

I’ve been looking forward to Carolyn and Elra’s wedding since their engagement session this summer. Carolyn is a fun and witty gal, and Elra is the perfect mate for her. We started their day with a “first look” at the Guardian Building in Detroit. The Guardian Building gave us a perfect backdrop for the first look and Carolyn’s beautiful dress. We then made a quick stop at Harry the Hatter’s to do a fun shot with the guys and their hats from Harry’s. Then it was on to the Fox Theatre and Woodward Ave. for some city backdrops.

The ceremony was at the beautiful Sweetest Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Detroit. You can’t ask for a much more beautiful church than Sweetest Heart of Mary. It complimented Elra and Carolyn’s attire perfectly. After the ceremony, it was off for a fun evening and meal at Sycamore Hills in Chesterfield Township. Elra and Carolyn were off to Maui the next morning and we look forward to sharing their pictures with them when they get back. Congratulations.

Kaity and Steve – Fall Wedding Season Begins

Kaity and Steve ended up with a beautiful day to start our fall wedding season. Perfect weather and temperature. Kaity looked beautiful in her bridal gown. Their day started in Birmingham at St. Columban Catholic Church with a beautiful ceremony. After, we moved to downtown Birmingham and Shain Park for some fun pictures with Kaity and Steve and their wedding party. We then headed to Dodge Park in Sterling Heights for some more photos outdoors in a beautiful tree covered park. The party then moved to Penna’s of Sterling where a great evening was had by everyone. Best wishes Kaity and Steve, you truly planned a beautiful day.

Molly and Ron – Cranbrook Engagement Session

Molly and Ron decided Cranbrook, in Bloomfield Hills, would be a great setting for their engagement session. I ended up taking them to some different areas than I normally go to, and we ended up with some fun and unique photos. We even got some photos on a rusty sculpture…just for Molly’s mom (you’ll have to ask Molly about that one)! Molly and Ron’s wedding is coming up in early Sept. and I look forward to their big day.

Tresa and Ron – Enjoying the Summer in Michigan

Tresa and Ron picked the perfect weekend for their engagement session. Although it was a little warm and humid, at least we had a beautiful evening to wander the grounds of Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. One of my favorite spots to photograph pretty much any person or couple. Tresa had been a member of the Cranbrook Art Museum a few years ago, but didn’t know all of the hidden treasures existed on the grounds. Tresa and Ron have a beautiful August wedding planned and I look forward to photographing it. Enjoy

Staci and Brad – Wed in Ann Arbor

Staci and Brad had a great day planned in downtown Ann Arbor, mainly in the Kerrytown neighborhood. Their day started at Webers Inn with the prep images. We then headed to Kerrytown and were able to shoot a bunch of fun pictures with Staci and Brad and the bridal party. We even had time for the bride and groom to play a quick game of one on one at the neighborhood basketball court. The wedding took place at the Kerrytown Concert House, which was a truly unique venue for such a nice event. The evening then moved on to Gandy Dancer restaurant and a great meal and celebration with Staci, Brad and their guests. Congratulation and enjoy!
Last but not least I wanted to mention, Jen House of A Moment In Time Wedding & Event Production, and her staff put on a great event for Staci and Brad.

Fadia and JP – Engagement Session in Detroit

Fadia and JP, another of my 2011 couples that have been trying to get their e-session in before their wedding. Our lovely Michigan weather has changed our plans multiple times. JP, is an owner of a hockey rink and wanted to make sure we had some Red Wings representation in their pictures. We started out on Belle Isle in Detroit with blustry winds that must have made the wind chill below freezing. We then moved on to Joe Louis Arena for JP’s shots and then some street scenes not from from JLA. I can’t wait until their wedding. Besides being a truly handsome couple, they are a lot of fun. June 18th isn’t far off…hopefully it will be warmer.
