We last saw Jenny and Robert a couple months ago for their engagement session in Birmingham. The big day finally arrived and what a beautiful wedding they had.
The bride and groom both prepared for their day with their wedding party at the Detroit Athletic Club. It was then just down the street to Historic Trinity Lutheran Church for the beautiful ceremony. The church is another of Detroit’s hidden gems that everyone should visit at some point.
After the formalities were finished, it was off to the Detroit Riverwalk and Milliken State Park for some fun photos with the wedding party. A few more fun images were taken back at the beautiful Detroit Athletic Club prior to the celebration.
Great speeches and a great party helped the couple start their new lives together. The main dining room at the Detroit Athletic Club looked amazing for the party.
Best wishes to Robert and Jenny!
Erin and Joe chose some of their favorite spots in Detroit for their engagement session. Michigan Central Depot started the session, along with dog Louie. We then headed to the riverfront and some fun shots along the river with views of the Ren Cen. Then we moved toward the Ford Field and Comerica area with a nice shot of the Ren Cen in the background. The Fox Theater and a quick stop at Town Pump rounded out our images before moving to Greektown for some early evening shots with the great neon lights.
Julie and Jason met in Stuttgart, Germany a few years ago. Jason is in the US Air Force and Julie was there working for the Department of Defense. They made Dearborn and Detroit (Julie’s hometown) their home for the weekend to celebrate their wedding. After a beautiful wedding at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dearborn, we were off to do some fun photos around UM Dearborn’s campus, the Detroit Institute of Arts and the Detroit Riverwalk. What a perfect day weather wise for the happy couple. They then celebrated with friends and family into the evening at 707 East in the Greektown area. Congratulations to the happy couple.
Mike and Bridget booked me last fall and I’ve been looking forward to their day since. Two classic Detroit landmarks, Grosse Pointe Academy and the Detroit Yacht Club served as their venues.
Starting the day getting ready at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center, makes for great prep photos. We then headed to the Academy and dodged a few raindrops, but nothing was going to dampen the day. After a standing room only mass, we spent some time outside the Academy building for some formal and fun shots.
It was then off to the Detroit Yacht Club and the reception. We spent a little more time outside of the Club before the cocktail hour for a few fun and nearly wet photos…just as Bridget’s brother Eric. After dinner, the festivities continued with the formal dances and a lot of other guests on the dance floor enjoying themselves.
Bridget and Mike, best wishes and enjoy your photos.
Rebecca and Stphen have been planning for this day for 18 months. The day went off without a hitch. From the prewedding prep to the lovely evening reception. Everything was held right at the Marriott Renaissance Center. We were able to sneak outside for a few photos along the Detroit River. Watch for a great film from the team at Joseph F Bauer Studios. Best wishes Stephen and Rebecca.
Dann and Donna have been planning their day for a lot of months and it turned out just as they hoped. Perfect weather, a handsome couple and great venues. Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church provided their ceremony backdrop. The church is definitely one of my favorites to shoot in because of all of the beauty and natural light. After we headed to the Detroit Riverwalk area and some fun on the carosuel and Milliken State Park. We then headed to the Detroit Institute of Arts for some fun shots on the lawn. It was then off to Dearborn Inn for a few shots before the reception. What a perfect day was had by all in attendance. Congratulations to the newlyweds.
Stephanie and Ricky had been waiting for this day for years and it did not disappoint. We had a beautiful Michigan summer day and the beauty. Stephanie looked perfectly beautiful in her dress and Ricky dapper in his tux to stand out over the beauty of the historic St. Anne Catholic Church in Detroit. We then headed to the Detroit Riverwalk park for some pictures in front of the Renaissance Center and Hart Plaza. Then it was off to the Italian American Banquet Center in Livonia for a great party and evening that will not soon be forgotten. Congrats Stephanie and Ricky.
Katie and Eric’s wedding isn’t for a year yet, but they wanted to get some engagement photos this fall. We decided on Belle Isle and, to keep Eric fired up about the whole day, Joe Louis Arena also. Belle Isle is truly Detroit’s hidden gem, and I hope with the Grand Prix coming back there, they will continue to improve the condition of the island and facilities. We were able to get some fun shots at the Casino building on the island. Also we utilized the wide open spaces on the island for some backgrounds. At Joe Louis, we have some classic shots of the front entrance and then headed around to the river side for some beautiful late afternoon shots on the Riverwalk. I look forward to Katie and Eric’s big day in October 2012.
