A cold December day didn’t scare Nicole and Josh. In fact, that’s what they hoped for. Their ceremony was a Zion Church of Christ in Mt. Clemens where the church was decorated for the season and a beautiful wedding day. Josh’s daughter, Rae, played a huge part in the wedding day and was a wonderful flower girl.
After the ceremony and formal photos, we headed for downtown Rochester and the downtown full of holiday lights. Josh and Nicole, and the wedding party, were troopers and we got lots of fun images in the downtown area.
It was then off to Indianwood Country Club for a beautifully decorate Great Hall. A wonderful meal, fun and love was felt by all. Best wishes to the happy couple.
Ryan and Stephanie were another of my couples who were in town for Thanksgiving. We had a warmer day, for the beginning of winter, to wander around Rochester downtown. The sun was brilliant and created some great light. Ryan and Stephanie’s big day isn’t until October, but stay tuned for some more great images.
Lea and Michael had a perfect wedding day planned and, in my opinion, it turned out just as they planned. Lexington, Michigan was the area the wedding and events took place. We started at Blue Water Winery with Lea and Michael’s first look. After some fun shots there we travelled into downtown Lexington for a few shots and then it was off to the ceremony at the Lexington KofC Hall. A beautiful evening and a wooded area was perfect for the intimate ceremony. The reception in the hall finished the evening with fun had by all of the guests. Best wishes Lea and Michael.
Charlie and Nicole chose Brighton for their engagement session. I have been to Brighton quite a few times, but have never photographed there. Brighton has a vibrant downtown area with a riverwalk and some nice buildings that make great backgrounds. Nicole and Charlie aren’t getting married until next summer, but we took the advantage of some great weather to get some super shots. It never hurts having a handsome couple also. Enjoy.
Jeff and Ashley picked a perfect day for their engagement session in the town where they met and now live, Royal Oak. Along with Foster, their German Shorthair, we had a great time exploring a park in Royal Oak and doing some shots under my favorite viaduct. Foster got some free running time in between his modeling debut also. We then headed downtown for a few shots. Watch the blog for the couple’s wedding day in September.
When we chose late April, we figured we would have a nice springtime warm day. Well, we’ll differ to Cassie on her interpretation on the temperature on Sunday. We had a beautiful sunny day for a late afternoon at Belle Isle and downtown Detroit. The Casino at Belle Isle and the pond behind the Casino started out as our background and then we moved by the river where we were able to play with light and shadows. We then drove down to the Campus Martius Park and surrounding areas to finish up our fun afternoon. We are looking forward to seeing Anthony and Cassie in about one month for their wedding day.
Nicole and Jack live in Royal Oak and wanted to do some fun shots around the downtown area. Royal Oak has so many unique old, new and updated buildings it makes it easy to find some great backgrounds. Ms. Molly joined us for some fun photos in the park where we were able to capture a few of falls last bit of color. We have about a year to wait to see Nicole and Jack’s big day, but it will be one of the highlights of 2013.
Katie and Eric’s wedding isn’t for a year yet, but they wanted to get some engagement photos this fall. We decided on Belle Isle and, to keep Eric fired up about the whole day, Joe Louis Arena also. Belle Isle is truly Detroit’s hidden gem, and I hope with the Grand Prix coming back there, they will continue to improve the condition of the island and facilities. We were able to get some fun shots at the Casino building on the island. Also we utilized the wide open spaces on the island for some backgrounds. At Joe Louis, we have some classic shots of the front entrance and then headed around to the river side for some beautiful late afternoon shots on the Riverwalk. I look forward to Katie and Eric’s big day in October 2012.
You will be seeing lots of Vence and Katie this week…they are in Detroit for their wedding on Friday and we thought we’d squeeze in an engagement session / pre-wedding session this week. Vence and Katie were both from the Detroit area, but now live in Phoenix. They wanted some fun yet gritty images for the engagement session. They chose the Corktown area in Detroit and we visited the old Michigan Central Depot and some of the buildings, art projects, and other areas around Corktown. It was definitely a fun shoot for me and I truly enjoyed exploring an area I haven’t been to before. Watch for their wedding photos this weekend.
