Dax and Alexa – Detroit Institute of Arts Wedding

Dax and Alexa are about as “Detroit” as a couple from Chicago can get. I love Chicago, but I think it’s so cool this couple chose Detroit for their wedding, because they enjoy being in the D.

From the getting ready photos at the Crowne Plaza, to the guys hitting some highlights of the city before the wedding, to the beautiful ceremony at the DIA. Wow, what a whirlwind day and the best part was that the rain cleared out so we could capture it all.

Best wishes to a beautiful couple and their lifetime together!

Becca and Michael – MacRay Harbor Wedding

We fought the probability of rain most of the day, but Becca and Michael didn’t let it stop them from an amazingly beautiful wedding. Michael, who is in the US Coast Guard, helped to organize the nautical themed wedding. Becca and her bridesmaids looked wonderful and other than the outdoor ceremony being moved in, the day went off without a hitch.

Best Wishes, Becca and Michael!

Eric and Erin – Our Lady of Sorrows and Cherry Creek Wedding

We last saw Eric and Erin in the fall of 2015 at MSU, where they met. The big day finally arrived and weather was nearly ideal.

Erin got ready at one of her bridesmaids homes and then the crew made their way to Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Farmington. A beatuiful ceremony wed Eric and Erin. Erin played a part in choosing much of the music and readings during the ceremony which made it even more special.

It was then off to Rochester Mills Beer Co. for some fun around the pool table and to celebrate. Then Cherry Creek Golf Club was our final destination for cocktail hour and the reception. We had a perfect evening for photos.
Congratulations Eric and Erin.

Lance and Kaitlyn – Laurel Manor Wedding

Kaitlyn and Lance were last seen in this blog in the fall, when they were planning their big day. It finally came and what a great time was had by their whole family. Daughters Kelsey and London were also happy participants.

Pre wedding photos took place at Kaitlyn’s grandparents home in a great wooded and garden setting and then it was off to Laurel Manor for the ceremony and reception.

Congratulations Kaitlyn and Lance.

Jessica and Nick – Inn at St. John’s Wedding

Jessica and Nick’s big day arrived and although it was April 1, there was no joking about what was about to happen. They both were so excited for the moment the officiant pronounced them man and wife.

For those of us who live in Michigan, we all know too well how April can be a mixture of many seasons. The first day of April 2016 gave us a nearly perfect weather day for Jessica and Nick’s celebration. The chapel at Inn at St. John’s for the wedding and the Atrium for the extra beautiful reception. Thanks to some help from Laura Davis & Co. with the overall coordination and help planning the day.

Best wishes for a wonderful life together Jessica and Nick.

Jennifer and Robert – Historic Trinity and Detroit Athletic Club Wedding

We last saw Jenny and Robert a couple months ago for their engagement session in Birmingham. The big day finally arrived and what a beautiful wedding they had.

The bride and groom both prepared for their day with their wedding party at the Detroit Athletic Club. It was then just down the street to Historic Trinity Lutheran Church for the beautiful ceremony. The church is another of Detroit’s hidden gems that everyone should visit at some point.

After the formalities were finished, it was off to the Detroit Riverwalk and Milliken State Park for some fun photos with the wedding party. A few more fun images were taken back at the beautiful Detroit Athletic Club prior to the celebration.

Great speeches and a great party helped the couple start their new lives together. The main dining room at the Detroit Athletic Club looked amazing for the party.

Best wishes to Robert and Jenny!

Kristen and Nick – Ann Arbor Marriott at Eagle Crest Wedding

It was a perfect day for an outdoor wedding. It definitely was a little warmer than when we last saw Nick and Kristen, in early December for their engagement session.

Kristen looked stunning walking down the aisle with her father, meeting a dapper looking Nick who had a huge smile on his face. The golf course, Eagle Crest, provided our backdrop for some fun and romantic photos of the happy couple. It was then off to the beautifully decorated tent for the evening celebration. Friends and family kept the dance floor full.

Congratulation Nick and Kristen!

Melissa and Andrew’s Wedding Day – Twin Lakes Golf and Swim Club, Oakland Twp. MI

The big day for Melissa and Andrew finally got here. Andrew has been stationed in Alabama for pilot training for the past year and Melissa has been patiently waiting to join him and begin their lives together.

After a beautiful ceremony at Church of the Master Lutheran Church in Troy, MI we headed to Twin Lakes Golf and Swim Club in Oakland Township. Dodging a few raindrops we were able to capture some beautiful images on the course. It was then back to the clubhouse for the evening celebration. A mid-celebration launch of Chinese lanterns helped get the crowd into an even more celebratory mood.

Andrew, thank you for serving our country and Melissa…enjoy your life in Alabama with your groom.

Jason and Michelle – St. Fabian, Birmingham Michigan and Wabeek Country Club Wedding

We last saw Jason and Michelle on a cold fall day. We hoped that an April wedding would prove to be a better day…they couldn’t have received a better day. Sunny and nice warm spring temperatures.

St. Fabian in Farmington Hills was where Jason and Michelle chose to say their vows. Some beautiful stained glass windows led to some great backgrounds also.

We then headed to downtown Birmingham for some fun photos with the bridal party and then it was off to Wabeek Country Club for the evenings festivities.

Wabeek, with it’s wonderful window backdrop for the head table. After a wonderful meal, the couple celebrated into the evening with friends and family.

Congratulations Michelle and Jason.

Brandon and Kial – Engagement Session – Belle Isle Detroit

Trying to find a perfect day to photograph Brandon and Kial this winter hasn’t been the easiest. Snowstorms, cold and work schedules have all come into play. We finally picked a nice sunny day to meet up.

Our first stop was the Detroit Public Library. What a fantastic old structure that most people probably don’t even know about. After wandering the halls of the library, we headed out to Belle Isle for some outdoor fun.

Brandon and Kial are having their wedding reception at the Casino on the island, so we wanted to get some shots around the outside of the building. Although the sun was shining beautifully, the temps were down right frigid. I think we lasted about 1/2 hour outside before calling it a day.

I look forward to a beautiful fall setting on the island.
