Julie and Jason met in Stuttgart, Germany a few years ago. Jason is in the US Air Force and Julie was there working for the Department of Defense. They made Dearborn and Detroit (Julie’s hometown) their home for the weekend to celebrate their wedding. After a beautiful wedding at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dearborn, we were off to do some fun photos around UM Dearborn’s campus, the Detroit Institute of Arts and the Detroit Riverwalk. What a perfect day weather wise for the happy couple. They then celebrated with friends and family into the evening at 707 East in the Greektown area. Congratulations to the happy couple.
I had so much fun last night with Jared and Olivia. They are a couple that likes to be silly and have fun and that makes a photographer’s job so much easier. From the rope swing in front of their house, to pumpkin picking at Franklin Cider Mill, to cheering for the home team in the old Tiger Stadium seats at the park…this couple knows how to make each other laugh.
Things may get a little more serious after the Tigers win last night. Olivia is a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan. Things may be a little tense around their household for the next week.
Stay tuned for their wedding photos in about a month.
Richard and Sarah have been together for 7 years now and are going to tie the knot next year. They started dating at Troy High School and then on to MSU where they enjoyed their college years together.
They chose to have their e-session shot around the campus of MSU. I must admit (even though I’m a UM fan), the campus at MSU is really nice and I like shooting there. Can’t wait until their big day next June.
We last saw Alicia and Alex in May of 2012 at their engagement session. Their wedding day finally rolled around and I was truly looking forward to their day.
We started the day with some getting ready shots and then moved on to a first look for Alicia and Alex. The bright sun and rolling hills made for some great photos of the couple and the bridal party. It was then time for the small, intimate outdoor ceremony.
As our weather begins to change to fall we are getting some great cloud patterns in Michigan which led to some great backdrops. Oakhurst itself has such unique and beautiful surroundings, you really can’t go wrong when taking photos in the area.
The evening continued with a great reception, dinner and dancing. The great hall makes for such beautiful photos.
Best wishes Alicia and Alex.
Ashley and Jeff dodged the raindrops on Friday and ended up with a beautiful wedding day at Pine Knob Pine Knob Mansion and Carriage House. The happy couple chose a first look prior to the ceremony and we had some time for some romantic photos after. Then it was off to the Pine Knob Mansion and some photos with the bridal party.
After some rain prior to the ceremony, the showers let up and the couple exchanged vows under the pavillion at the Carriage House. A great meal and a fun evening followed inside.
Best wishes to Jeff and Ashley.
Dan and Teegan came to me many months ago and told me about their plans for a unique wedding in Royal Oak. A park wedding and the reception at Royal Oak Farmers Market. Something totally different and fun sounding, I was glad when they booked me. Their day did not disappoint. A beautiful ceremony at Barton Park in Royal Oak and the reception at the made over (by Teegan and Dan’s families and friends) Royal Oak Farmers Market.
We made a quick trip to Quarton Lake in Birmingham for some fun and beautiful photos with the wedding party. I love when wedding parties are open to fun and slightly quirky photos. The bridesmaids were the members wanting to climb trees, not the guys.
Best wishes for a long life together, Teegan and Dan.
Lea and Michael had a perfect wedding day planned and, in my opinion, it turned out just as they planned. Lexington, Michigan was the area the wedding and events took place. We started at Blue Water Winery with Lea and Michael’s first look. After some fun shots there we travelled into downtown Lexington for a few shots and then it was off to the ceremony at the Lexington KofC Hall. A beautiful evening and a wooded area was perfect for the intimate ceremony. The reception in the hall finished the evening with fun had by all of the guests. Best wishes Lea and Michael.
Tony and Maria chose Indianwood Golf and Country Club in Lake Orion for their engagement session. Tony is a golfer and 1940 Ford car owner and wanted to include both of those passions in his engagement shoot. The clubhouse provided a great backdrop for this classic car. With a beautiful early summer evening, a great couple and the perfect set of props gave us some great shots. Stay tuned for their October wedding.
Dann and Donna have been planning their day for a lot of months and it turned out just as they hoped. Perfect weather, a handsome couple and great venues. Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church provided their ceremony backdrop. The church is definitely one of my favorites to shoot in because of all of the beauty and natural light. After we headed to the Detroit Riverwalk area and some fun on the carosuel and Milliken State Park. We then headed to the Detroit Institute of Arts for some fun shots on the lawn. It was then off to Dearborn Inn for a few shots before the reception. What a perfect day was had by all in attendance. Congratulations to the newlyweds.
Jill and Bryan have been eyeing May 24th for a perfect day to marry. In Jill’s family, she is the 5th family member to be married on May 24th. The perfect start to a Memorial Day weekend. Our first look took place at Addison Oaks Park where we were able to get some beautiful spring afternoon backgrounds. We then moved on to Twin Lakes Golf Club for the ceremony and festivities. A traditional Jewish ceremony took place under the chuppah, then inside for an evening of celebration. Watch our blog in the coming months for Jill and Bryan’s, “Rock the Dress” session. Best wishes.
