I met Charlie and Nicole about a year ago. All the planning for a beautiful wedding paid off. They had the perfect day at Inn at St. Johns. Nicole looked stunning in her dress and Charlie was dapper in his tux and managed through the day with a severely injured knee (a la the balancing photo below).
The Dan Rafferty Band entertained the crowd during the reception and never left the dance floor empty. The band is constantly engaging the guests and kept everyone smiling and dancing. An amazing evening for a truly handsome couple. Best of luck Nicole and Charlie.
Ashley and Jeff dodged the raindrops on Friday and ended up with a beautiful wedding day at Pine Knob Pine Knob Mansion and Carriage House. The happy couple chose a first look prior to the ceremony and we had some time for some romantic photos after. Then it was off to the Pine Knob Mansion and some photos with the bridal party.
After some rain prior to the ceremony, the showers let up and the couple exchanged vows under the pavillion at the Carriage House. A great meal and a fun evening followed inside.
Best wishes to Jeff and Ashley.
Dan and Teegan came to me many months ago and told me about their plans for a unique wedding in Royal Oak. A park wedding and the reception at Royal Oak Farmers Market. Something totally different and fun sounding, I was glad when they booked me. Their day did not disappoint. A beautiful ceremony at Barton Park in Royal Oak and the reception at the made over (by Teegan and Dan’s families and friends) Royal Oak Farmers Market.
We made a quick trip to Quarton Lake in Birmingham for some fun and beautiful photos with the wedding party. I love when wedding parties are open to fun and slightly quirky photos. The bridesmaids were the members wanting to climb trees, not the guys.
Best wishes for a long life together, Teegan and Dan.
DJ and Sara wanted a true Detroit style wedding. Both of them work in Detroit and appreciate what the city has to offer. Our day started with the bride and groom getting ready at the Fort Shelby Doubletree Hotel. We then headed out to Belle Isle for a beautiful outdoor wedding at the Conservatory. Sara and DJ’s son served as honorary co-best man with his true “walk down the aisle”. After the formalities, we spent some time touring Belle Isle and the Casino area for some fun shots of the couple and bridal party. On our way to the reception, we stopped in the Eastern Market area for some grittier photos with some graffiti art backgrounds. It was then off to the Madison Theater Building for a memorable reception and party. What a beautiful day and evening. Congratulations to Sara, DJ and Griffin and best wishes.
Cassie and Anthony are one of those fun couples I always look forward to photographing. With the perfect venue for the couple, Bay Pointe Golf Club, and a beautiful day we couldn’t help but hit a home run. Cassie and the bridesmaids looked stunning and Anthony and the groomsmen looked dapper in their tuxs’. With a beautiful outdoor, lakeside, ceremony, a classy reception and a handsome couple, my job was easy. Best wishes to the newlyweds.
Stephen and Rebecca’s wedding is coming up in July. Since it’s January in Michigan, we chose the friendly and warm confines of the Detroit Institute of Arts for their engagement session. Rebecca had never visited the DIA before, so it was kind of a whirlwind tour / engagement session. With great winter window light we were able to get some beautiful shots. We even ventured outside for a few at the end of the session. Looking forward to a warm summer day in July. Enjoy.
Jennifer and Mark are a couple that loves the outdoors. Mark is a big fisherman and hunter and I think Jennifer has followed in his steps. Their beautiful ceremony and reception was held at Dunham Hills Golf Club in Hartland, Michigan. The entire wedding had an outdoors theme, from the white pine and deer antler accents to the candles lighting the aisle, every touch said outdoors Michigan. I loved the smiles Jen had all day and how happy Mark seemed at the ceremony. Best wishes for a beautiful and enjoyable life together
Jennifer and Mark were my last scheduled engagement session for the fall season. It was a crisp fall evening and we were able to capture some of the beauty of Michigan’s autumn before the snow starts to fly. The thing I learned quickly about Jennifer and Mark is they love spending time together in the outdoors…and they love to horse around with each other. There was never a shortage of smiles on our tour of the farm and surrounding areas. I love seeing a couple that can so easily interact with each other. It truly makes my job of capturing them that much easier. If we look for Jennifer and Mark in the next week, we’ll probably find them in a deer blind. Come December, we’ll see them back here on the blog with their wedding photos.
I had a great time with Chelsey & Jeff yesterday. We carved out some time on a surprisingly nice Michigan winter afternoon. Both Chelsey and Jeff grew up around Marine City and so the backdrop for their session made complete sense, at East China Township Park and Chelsey’s parents home on the St. Clair River. We had a lot of laughs and that always makes photography that much easier. Can’t wait until the big day in June.
