The last time we were with Jon and Julie was October of last year for their engagement session at Independence Oaks. Saturday was finally their wedding day at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Troy.
We started the day with Julie and the bridesmaids at Julie’s parents home in Troy. It was then off to the church for Jon and Julie’s vows. After the beautiful ceremony and a few shots around the church grounds, we were off to Grosse Pointe Yacht Club for the celebration.
I hadn’t been to the yacht club for a few years and I forgot what a truly magnificent venue it is. Julie and all her planning helped make it an even more perfect place for a beautiful reception. We spent some time around the grounds and marina at the yacht club capturing some wonderful moments for the newlyweds. The party commenced and a wonderful time was had by all of the guests, keeping the dance floor packed all evening.
Best wishes Jon and Julie! Enjoy.
Kyle and Kristin started telling me about the plans for their day nearly a year ago. It materialized into exactly what they had talked about. A beautiful summer day in a great outdoor setting. Woodside Bible Church in Troy was a great location for their intimate ceremony in the garden under mature trees. Nicole and her Dad looked stunning walking across the bridge to the gazebo. The grounds around Woodside are perfect for many photo ops after the ceremony.
It was then off to Petruzellos for a beautiful evening. Highlighted by Nicholas Hardy entertaining the crowd as DJ, but he’s more than just a DJ if you haven’t experienced him with Elysium Experience. The meal was wonderful and the dancefloor was full all evening. Best wishes for a wonderful life Kristin and Kyle.
Richard and Sarah started dating years ago, at Troy High School, they then went on to Michigan State and after graduation, took jobs in different states. On Saturday, they made their relationship complete, by saying their vows and starting a life together in Columbus, Ohio. Their beautiful day started out at Academy of the Sacred Heart Chapel. We had a fun time doing some photos around the campus their following their ceremony. We then stopped by their old alma mater of Troy High for some photos with their bridal party, many of whom also went to THS. It was then off to Petruzello’s in Troy for the reception. The dance floor was full the entire evening. Best wishes for your new life together.
Greg and Julie had a lovely day for their wedding at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Troy. The grounds around the campus are wonderful for beautiful shots during and after the wedding. We then travelled to a local park for a few romantic images of the happy couple. Then we were off to St. Nicolas Cultural Center in Troy for an elegant evening capped off by a late night sparkler send off of the couple. Congratulations to Greg and Julie and best wishes.
Aaron and Mary weren’t real picky about where they had their engagement session photos taken, but they did want a few taken at an overpass in Birmingham that they would spend time watching trains. So that’s exactly where we started. Then it was off to Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills for some photos around the grounds there. Although many of the leaves have now gone from the trees, we were still able to get some of the feelings of Michigan’s fall. Enjoy!
Last time we saw Rob and Shannon, it was spring and trees were budding…Saturday was the perfect fall day with the trees near their peak of color. Rob and Shannon exchanged their vows after 9 years of courtship. With the wedding taking place at Academy of Sacred Heart in Bloomfield Hills and the reception at San Marino Club in Troy, we had plenty of opportunities for some great photo opportunities. Between the wedding and reception we made a quick stop at Quarton Lake in Birmingham for some late afternoon photos. A great time was had by their friends and family at the reception. Best wishes for a wonderful life.
Gabriela and Sean’s wedding is quickly approaching and we wanted to get their engagement session in before the big day. We chose one of my favorite Troy parks to have some fun at. Gabriela and Sean probably spent more time on playground equipment than they had in years, but it made for some great photos. Trees, green grass and late day sunshine always makes a photographer happy and it suited the couple well. Keep watching our blog in the coming weeks for their wedding photos.
You may remember Jaclyn and Bobby from their wedding photos last month. Jaclyn had asked me if they could do a “Rock the Dress” (aka Trash the Dress in some circles) session. I was excited, as I don’t have many brides that have expressed an interest in doing one. Check out these fun images that we did with Jaclyn and Bobby at our studio and a nearby park. Fun and relaxed…something that’s often hard to get on a wedding day that’s on a timeline. I’m looking for more couples that want to “Rock their Dress”.
