We fought the probability of rain most of the day, but Becca and Michael didn’t let it stop them from an amazingly beautiful wedding. Michael, who is in the US Coast Guard, helped to organize the nautical themed wedding. Becca and her bridesmaids looked wonderful and other than the outdoor ceremony being moved in, the day went off without a hitch.
Best Wishes, Becca and Michael!
Kristin and Kyle chose downtown Rochester for their engagement session. We had a perfect fall evening to wander along Paint Creek and downtown Rochester. We are looking forward to Kristin and Kyle’s big day in 2014. Stay tuned.
Jessica and Dom had a beautiful day planned. With royal blue Michigan sky to compliment the peacock color pallet chosen for the day, we celebrated their marriage. MacRay Harbor was the setting for the ceremony. As a first for our photography studio, Jess and Dom planned a blindfolded first look. We set up in downtown Mt. Clemens for some fun shots with the bridal party and the blindfolded introduction. It was then off to MacRay for the ceremony and party to follow. It was a very warm day, but the friends and family filled the seats on the shores of Lake St. Clair. Congratulations to Jessica and Dom.
Dann and Donna have been planning their day for a lot of months and it turned out just as they hoped. Perfect weather, a handsome couple and great venues. Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church provided their ceremony backdrop. The church is definitely one of my favorites to shoot in because of all of the beauty and natural light. After we headed to the Detroit Riverwalk area and some fun on the carosuel and Milliken State Park. We then headed to the Detroit Institute of Arts for some fun shots on the lawn. It was then off to Dearborn Inn for a few shots before the reception. What a perfect day was had by all in attendance. Congratulations to the newlyweds.
Andrea and Ryan are busy medical residents and so time is valuable. You will get to see them twice in a week, once for their engagement session and again for their wedding that is Saturday. Last night we wandered the shores of Quarton Lake, in Birmingham, and got some fun early fall photos. Andrea and Ryan brought their dog with them who had more fun chasing squirrels, but posed for some photos before grandpa took him home. The rest of the evening was spent along the shore and capturing some great “golden hour” photos. Stay tuned for wedding photos early next week.
Jessica & Anthony both have lived and grown up in the downriver area of metro Detroit. They told me the type of photos they were looking for during their e-session and I told them I thought Stoney Creek Metropark would be a great venue. That meant a trek to the “north woods of Detroit” and I think they enjoyed their couple of hours being hustled around my favorite areas of Stoney Creek. Hopefully Jessica didn’t mind my “ribbing” about her phobias and allergies. Based on her beautiful smile, I’m guessing she wasn’t. Anthony and Jessica have a late June wedding planned at the Masonic Temple in Detroit. Check back then for some beautiful wedding shots.
For my blog followers, you may remember Carmen and Walter’s mid-winter engagement session a few months ago. Mid-August in Michigan is much different. Although the weather didn’t cooperate 100%, they still had a beautiful and memorable wedding day at Bay Harbor. The sun poked thru the clouds several times to get some fun outdoor shots. Carmen and Walter make such a handsome couple, though, it really didn’t matter. Enjoy your life together and enjoy your images. All event planning and stylings were handled by the wonderful Charmed Weddings & Events.
Christina and Rick wanted to do their engagement session in Lexington, Michigan one year after they became engaged. We had a beautiful night on the water and were able to visit the spot Rick popped the question last year. Lexington is exactly what I needed to get out of the “same old, same old” rut and I really enjoyed spending the evening with Christina and Rick. Keep watching the blog for their wedding coming in October.
After a few washout days this spring, we finally got a beautiful evening for Mike and Jessica…and Nikko (their 6 month old puppy) too. A springtime walk at Stoney Creek Metropark made the background for our e-session. Some of my favorite areas of the park didn’t let us down. While the ground cover is still emerging, some of the spring flowers made for some beautiful splashes of color. Nikko may not have enjoyed the walk so much, winding up with a coat of burrs for the happy parents to spend the evening picking out. Mike and Jessica are getting married in September and I am truly looking forward to their wedding.
Laura and Jay were married a year ago in a small ceremony. Jay’s family, from out of state and the Dominican Republic, was not able to be at the wedding last year so they decided they would plan a vow renewal…with all the wedding celebration a year later. Laura looked stunning in her new gown and Jay and the guys were equally handsome in their tux’. Although at least one of the bridesmaids from the Dominican Republic would disagree with me, the day was a beautiful fall day here in the State of Michigan. We hit many of the Detroit highlights and got some beautiful shots on Belle Isle before heading back for the ceremony and reception in St. Clair Shores. What a great day and I think fun was had by all in attendance. Laura and Jay, enjoy the next years together!
